All the pretty ladies by bealor All the pretty ladies by bealor
1930's this time, painted with red wine. This was so much fun to do! Wine behaves very differently from any of the other things I've tried. As it dries, it changes colour and it becomes very dark, so you have to work with A LOT of water and very little wine if you only want a light shading. Quite hard to master, but very cool!

i wonder if it matters how old/expensive the wine is
or does that only affect the taste?

Yeah, it does. The better quality of the wine, the deeper colour. It depends on the grape and such, some of the really cheap wines actually has chemically added colour to it, and that's not ideal to work with. But still, I just took the cheapest bottle I could find (considering this was only an experiment) and look how much colour that gave me!

wow! so it does affect it! O_O I wouldnt have guessed!!
Thanks for explaining! This art was both beautiful and educational! haha

it feels like it would be a bit of a waste to use very expensive wine to paint though... *loves wine like crazy*
But i can only imagine its beauty o:

Haha thanks! Yeah I feel the same (also loves wine) but you really don't need much wine to paint, you have blend it out with lots of water. So there will be plenty left to drink ;)
